Arts In The Community
The Houston County Arts Council is always looking for ways to bring arts to our community. In addition to sponsored events, the HCAC Council supports seasonal displays in Strawberry Alley. In Strawberry Alley you will find an Art Box to help encourage artists young and old in their artistic journey.

Strawberry Alley
Last month's theme was "April Showers Bring May Flowers". Crystal raindrops made us feel like singing in the rain!
Strawberry Alley is loaded with art. Including many photo ops! The HCAC changes the decorations with the changing seasons.
This month's theme was graduation.
Play a game of tic-tac-toe.
And remember - what alley doesn't have cats? See if you can find the 13 hidden black cats in the alley!
Art Box in Strawberry Alley
Conveniently located in Strawberry Alley, there is a interactive Art Box. Inside you will find art supplies, kits to make art objects and more.
Completed items left in the box will be displayed at the 2026 Sweet Tea and Southern Art Exhibit.
And if you are 14 or over - consider entering your artwork in the Sweet Tea exhibit.
"Our Wish Houston County"
For the second year in a row, HCAC hosted a rock painting booth for the "Our Wish Houston County" Program.
Our Wish Houston County (HC) is a local nonprofit organization in Tennessee dedicated to supporting individuals with different abilities of all ages. They are best known for hosting the annual Our Wish Ability Games, a community event featuring inclusive sports, games, and activities
Memorial Wall at the Houston County Fair
For several years HCAC has highlighted an artist that is no longer with us.
Last year's artist was Grace McDonald. Pictured with the wall is her granddaughter, Tangy McDonald Rye.
Arts in the Chamber Windows
The Houston County Arts Council Maintains the Artwork (and other community events) in the Houston County Area Chamber of Commerce Windows.
